Wii sales seem pretty steady to me.  And already, the PS3 dropped...  It seems as though next week the Wii will be back on top of the PS3 again.

I have no idea what Wii Fit is gonna do for Japanese Wii sales.  We all thought we'd see a stratospheric boost when Galaxy came out and it didn't happen.  So I'm gonna keep my expectations in line.

They may as well include Wii Sports with the system, because I don't think it adds that much to the production cost, does it? I mean, its essentially a DVD disc and a cardboard holder I know it cost money to make the game, but Nintendo has surely made up that cost by now, and then some!

So I think a $250 that included Wii Fit, Wii Sports (and possibly Wii Play) would be a far better way to go than cutting the price. And if it did include Wii Play it should also include the extra controller.

I recall the NES bundle was kinda similar to this. It had 2 controllers, 2 games, a zapper, and of course who could forget R.O.B.?

R.O.B. was the NES-era equivalent of the Wii Board, but lets hope that the Wii Board has better game compatibility than R.O.B. did, And the same with the Wii Zapper. I think the original NES zapper was only compatible with 3 games, or something...

The WiiFit board already has two compatible games.
WiiFit and some other 3rd party game that I can't remember the name of.

Besides I'm pretty sure (depending on WiiFit sales) the next Wario Ware will have WiiBoard support, and the next 1080 and Wave Race might have board support too.

Let me explain...

The GH series is a massively popular one, yes. But it has never been considered a system seller because of its price tag.

Also, by the time the games are released the consoles already have an installed user base. In other words, people that bought GH3 already owned a PS2, 360, Wii and PS3.

In short, peripheral games can be big sellers but not necesarily system sellers.

Too bad the PS3 is back to being absolutely CRUSHED in the US. I was at Best Buy about 5 minutes after they opened today - and a woman was buying the last of 51 Wiis that they had today. I then counted all the 360s - they had 5 IIRC, all Halo 3 edition. Then I counted the PS3s - 98! 98 f'ing PS3s just sitting there collecting dust. They're also completely sold out of Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii and the 360, but they have tons of the PS3 and PS2 version - even the PC version had less than the PS3.

Sony should lease Nintendo some manufacturing plants since they obviously don't really need them right now.
Besides it would help them subsidize the loss from every PS3 sold and the cost of every PS3 made and still sitting on a shelf

I wonder when Sony will make the announcement that they are going to suspend production of the PS3 because supply far exceeds demand.

My guess is that they actually have suspended production, as of several months ago. Stores have been sending back their unsold systems, which Sony places in a new box with Motorstorm or Spider-Man 3 or whatever they put in there, and ship it back to another store. It's not like one day every store completely sold all their old PS3 overstock and it was magically replaced by the pack-in systems.

Game like that typically sell out but typically don't ship enough to meet demand.

People were lined up to buy the game, some people were buying a Wii with the Wiifit game and some just bought two copies of WiiFit.
There were Casuals, hardcore and Non-gamers all lined up together to purchase WiiFit whether it was for themselves or as a gift.

I would guess tat WiiFit will be in the 300k range, but it could be higher depending on how much supply was actually put out.
