Well, Tales is far from a traditional RPG, and that's all that matters to me

Ok, why do people have this rejection on AoL, seriously, it's one of the best Zelda games ever, in fact to me it is the #1 Zelda.

Terranigma is the best, VC get!

Because of its retarded continue system that forces you to walk all over the world each time you run out of lives. Because of the stupid fighting system. Because of the insane "walk through walls" or "find the hidden square on the world map" puzzles that were necessary for finishing the game. Adventure of Link is even worse than the first Metroid. Sidescrolling Zelda was awesome in the later games but AoL is a retarded implementation.

Thats pretty much it for me.  If the fix the save system it would really be a contender for best Zelda game.

Apparently the game had super long lines at TGS.  Impressions suggest it's a pretty typical RPG.  The boss battle I saw on IGN had some hilarious 80s hard rock music.
That's my opinion, not yours.

I watched a video of the game this morning and it looks kind of neat.  maybe the game that could get me to get a Xb360 if the game comes out here.  I don't know if it is or not.  But I love the character design, Dragon Quest on Xbox 360. ^^  But the game does seem, at least in the video to have a delay when going into battle.

Ahahahaha.  I'm glad, because I was tempted to get this game.  According to the 7.9 the story is boring through the first third which is kind of the problem I had with Tales of Symphonia too.

I read that the Euro version won't even feature the original Japanese voices because they added a shitload of other dubs (French, Italian...).
That's lame...

Well Ghisy I don't think they had space to fit Japanese since they needed the Euro dubbs, Blue Dragon is a game that takes up 3 discs.

LIVE!!!!

I dislike GameInformer, but they gave this game a 9.

Gamepro gave it a 4.75 out of 5.

I know but they should release a country specific version: like English-Japanese for the UK, French-Japanese for France and so on.
I mean I don't care about any dubbing if the Japanese version is available.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more said about this game, even if it IS getting kinda old.  I went and helped myself to it as a post-Christmas snack.  It seems pretty fun, and the class/skill system is nifty.  The monster designs are cool, but I don't like the characters much.  Especially Shu.  His cursing brings me great shame.  Everytime he says something, I wither with embarrassment like a cigarette slowly curling and burning out in an ashtray.  It brings back foul memories of babysitting my little cousin.  "Where the d@mn's my h3ll d@mn b@st@rd at?"

Is there a reason you have to sort through feces for treasure?  Is that a joke or something?

Hmmm... I know I posted positive reviews earlier, but I have heard that there is some dissent as to the game's quality. Hmm...

I was looking at it and saw you can have four characters at once. That's a plus!

Now tell me if it plays like baby's first rpg (FF7) or not

From what I read from reviews the job system in the game is a carbon copy of FF:V . And that Microsoft's packaging for the game sucks 3 discs stacked on top of each other WTF is that, from what I heard from my friends they said the game doesn't really pick up until disc 2 and theres no random battles, all the enemies are on the screen.

Blue Dragon is a textbook jrpg, but it's really polished.  There's nothing WRONG with the game, if you like that sort of thing.  In small doses, it's a lot of fun.  Typically, I only play the game for a half-hour at a time; any longer than that, and vanquishing Poo Snakes with your +1 Battle Menu starts getting real tedious.  The characters are annoying, and as far as I can tell, they never STOP being annoying.  I wish more jrpgs let you create your own character.  Then your character's only as obnoxious as you unintentionally craft him or her to be.

Of special note is the absurdly melodramatic 80's rock that accompanies boss battles, which goes something like: "This is the beginning!/The lion of the night's ascending!/This is the beginning!/The beginning!/The beginning!/My self-esteem is neverending!"  I like to think that whoever chose to inject that music into the climactic boss battles was being silly on purpose.
