So what was the G4 announcement anyway?

Also I think I need some "indeath" advice right about now.

I bet it was Bungie and MS adjusting their business relationship. That or the $400 PS3.

Not sure how this rumor was never logged in tot the records that are this thread, but...

Capcom bringing Okami to the Wii?

I'm sure its mentioned in this thread somewhere, but I didn't see it mentioned in the rumor summary.
Either way, anyone that knows whether this is true or not can't talk about it till Friday, so as usual the wait continues,

It has been confirmed by eurogamer as part of Capcom's press conference.

Skies of Arcadia Sequel coming?
Quote

A little out of left field, however, is news of Sega reviving Skies of Arcadia. The sky pirate RPG was criminally overlooked, despite releases on both Dreamcast and GameCube, but apparently Sega been quietly preparing a sequel to the swashbuckling adventure.

My guess is that if this is true, it will most likely release on the Wii.

Interesting. I'd place my bets on a sequel being for Wii. Sega would be wise to release it for Wii granted the console has the largest install base (notably in Japan), it's easiest (and cheapest) to develop for, and is starved for RPGs. Wait, wait a minute, that'd be wise of Sega.... silly me.

I loved SoA and have been looking forward to a possible sequel for a while.  Hopefully, they don't ruin the series like they did to Shining Force.

Skies of Arcadia is fantastic.  A little too crazy on random battles but overall really good.  On one hand I'd love a sequel.  On the other hand it's Sega.  I don't trust them to not f*ck it up.  Do the sequel right or don't do it at all.

Man, Skies of Arcadia was such a great game.  I really enjoyed the direct and not-so-subtle references to the real world (and the power dynamics therein).  Let's hope this sequel is real (and on Wii).

Not a rumor per say, but more of wishful thinking.

But is it possible that a Psychonauts port could be coming to the Wii?

edit:
Is it also possible that Sin & Punishment 2 could be coming to the Wii?

Coming from the latest issue of Nintendo Power…

Masato Maegawa, Treasure: When we were originally working on Sin and Punishment [for Virtual Console], there was some discussion utilizing Wii-like controls, and I think now that we’re working more with the Wii, it is something we’d very much like to try.

Sin and Punishment 2 would be groin grabbingly good.

The game is literally designed with the Wii in mind.

I think it's possible that ANY port could be coming to the Wii... provided it's from last gen of course.

Seriously though everyone stop getting excited about ports or wishing for ports or suggesting certain games be ported.  We're getting f*cking on support here and supporting last-gen port dumping is probably a big part of the reason.  We'll never get better support if we tolerate this lazy bullsh!t.  I don't know about you but I didn't buy a Wii to play PS2 or Xbox games.

How weird would it be for Sin & Punishment to get a sequel after being limited to Japan for years?  For years we wanted that game released in North America in some form and now we might have two S&P games on one console.  You look at that possibility and you look at how Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are now routinely released here and you wonder why Nintendo doesn't just take the risk and localize everything.  Makes their stubborness about Earthbound all the more annoying.

Well some of us did not have a PS2 or Xbox when the games originally came out, and while the wanting of those games to be ported may be a selfish want, you not wanting the ports is just as selfish.

I don't have a PS2 or Xbox either BUT if I want one I'll buy one.  A PS2 is much cheaper than a Wii and has way more games.  I don't have to hope for PS2 games I want to be ported to it because they're already on the console.  I can play every PS2 game instead of just some.

I bought the Wii for Wii games.  That's what you're supposed to buy a console for - the games that are made for the console.  I'm not being selfish, I'm being a smart consumer.  I paid a higher price for a Wii than I would have for a PS2 or Xbox (and Gamecube in some cases).  So I expect more exclusive Wii content to justify that purchase.

Now if we got ports plus new exclusives then GREAT!  There's nothing wrong with that.  But right now we're getting a lot of ports INSTEAD of new exclusives and that's crap.  The "instead" is what I'm against and don't want anyone to encourage, not the mere existence of ports.  If we can get as many games available on the Wii as possible that would awesome.  But the Wii has to be more than a retro machine.

Of course, the reason we're getting tons of ports is because third parties were tentative in their Wii plans. They hedged their bets with cheaper ports, and they were especially attractive early on because they could be developed quicker, allowing late-arriving third-parties a shot at the 2007 Holiday season.

Not to mention that some ports are made because they actually believe it's worthwhile to make them for the wiimote and a new audience: Tecmo seems to believe so with Rygar, as does Capcom with Okami.

Maybe so but I figure "Hey!  We don't have to make a new game!" is playing the biggest role in their decisions.

Initially we were probably getting a lot of ports because third parties underestimated the Wii and wanted to get something out as soon as possible to capitalize but now I think they're taking advantage of the situation.  Now they're releasing ports because they think they've found an audience that is easily manipulated and requires very little effort to please.  We bought their ports so now they think they have an easy way to make a profit without putting any real effort, money or time into it and they're exploiting that.  And as long as they continue to bring those profits in that's not going to change.  What incentive do they have to try harder when they don't have to?
