I'm not sure.
But I am glad to see three threads about this Tingle game in the upper half of the GBA/DS forum. :P

I was going to point out the same! three threads only means good things, Tingle for Game of The Year.

That boss fight looked cool.

"I'm a little surprised that Tingle, who prances around in green tights and pointy green hat, wants to be surrounded by beautiful women, but I think that scene is honestly supposed to be ironic."

It had to be our ridiculous game culture of the west, where if a man wears tighs he's gay. Tingle's outfit is very likely to be a joke about cosplay, after all Tingle is an inside joke on otaku, specially Zelda otakus. He fits the stereotype perfectly, he's obsessed about the kokiri and their world, doesn't have a real job and his father is embarrased, not that he does things that do not fit his gender, but things that do not fit with his age. Of course in this game and the Wind Waker he turned on the capitalist side, but his origins are very clear about being an inside parody on the Zelda nuts, i.e. a parody of us, maybe thats what people don't like, that they are seeing themselves in him and its not a pretty picture.

So... it even has cooking minigames, I can't wait! please Nintendo localize this game!

Yeah, I think you're right Mantidor.  Well, I'm not so sure gamers look at Tingle and secretly feel like they're looking in a mirror, but I agree with the part where westerners just don't "get" Tingle.  He's not homosexual at all, he's a guy who just can't grow up.  Not that it would be some huge crime if he was homosexual, but the point is that isn't what Tingle is about.  Like you said, he's about poking fun at over the top fans.

review!
I like how everything revolves around money. Need information? Barter it out of an NPC. Not strong enough to fight the baddies (you aren't Link, afterall)? Hire a bodyguard. Oh, and I liked this quote:

Quote

Characters are distinct and have their own little animation such as the dodgy eyes of the Chiko’s Mama following you around as you walk around town or the bearded man wiping his sword. The attention to detail is simply stunning if you take the time to look but, you’ll notice at the same time there’s a dreary look to everything. This dreary theme actually suits the game well because everyone seems to be looking out for themselves only, hoping to make some Rupees whenever they can just like Tingle! Not all animations are along the norm however as you’ll find Tingle showing off his clothed buttock now and then as well as the bridge repairer dancing and thrusting his pelvis.
“...there are those who would...say, '...If I could just not have to work everyday...that would be the most wonderful life in the world.' They don't know life. Because what makes life mean something is purpose.  The battle. The struggle.  Even if you don't win it.” - Richard M. Nixon

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

Even if it never comes to America, we'll have an English translation of the game anyway so nothing stopping fans from being able to import and truly enjoy the game.  Oh how it's a great thing Nintendo portables are region free.

This is strange that Europe is getting a game before NA for a change.

But since the DS is region free, I think it should be trivial to release it in NA, right? Especially if they've already done the translations... Well, I hope so because I've been waiting for it to come here.

Sometimes Europe gets a game NA doesn't get at all, often wacky stuff like Kurukuru Kururin or Doshin The Giant.

Why must NOA fail us so?  Isn't it NOE's job to screw over its patrons?

They have pointed out several times without exactly saying that basically Japan and Europe are more accepting of a game involving a character who has a flamboyant personality and that America has this giant homophobia.  That poll that was had earlier when this game was not even out in Japan proved that the game was wanted in either territory but NOT wanted here.  Look at the forum posts in the forum you will still find a mixed bag of people who don't like Tingle or want him in any game.

First they won't do Duck Hunt because it would anger PETA, now they won't give us Tingle because of Homophobia? Why is it NA has become such an intolerant region?

Still, the game is already translated.  It shouldn't take much to localize.  I don't think they'd have to sell many copies to justify doing it, so why not? No game is going to make everyone happy.
