I know. I was just wondering has there been any word on the if and how, or has SmashBros. made everybody forget everything? And if so, what about 5.1 DD.

It doesn't seem to use DD, since Metroid Prime has a Dolby Pro Logic 2 logo on the splash screen.  If DD was supported I'm SURE Retro would have been all over it.

Ok, so I was cruising threw Nintendo's FAQ's online about the different channels and such when I came across this....

Can the Wii console playback music CDs and DVDs?
The Wii console released in the end of 2006 does not have the feature to playback music CDs or DVDs

So what does that mean?......are there going to be new Wii consoles that have this ability, I thought if they decided to do this all that it would require would be an update or a new WiiWare channel...here's the link

I can't find the link right now, but I believe that the Japanese FAQ actually says that they had to delay the DVD playback model beyond 2007 and into sometime in the future. They actually apologized for it, though I'm sure that's par for the course for Japanese PR speak.

It's like the different color options. They'll need to get through month(s) of backlog after the holiday season before they can even think about modifying or diversifying the core line.

Gee, do you think that the Wii 2 will playback DVDs?
