If it's an all new one, then Konami better not make some stupid storyline about Snakes Summer Vacation.

Snake's Xtreme Beach Volleyball anyone?

Hey, I just heard that Konami of Japan announced they wouldn't be making anymore Xbox games.  If this is true, then that raises the chance of this being a GC exclusive.  Sucks for the MS fans though...

if they do remake a metal gear it should be metal gear solid- which was the best one
but they could also pull a remake of the first one such as what capcom did with remake
they could have the same kind of levels but up the graphics
hopefully they would keep the same quotes though- (i feel asleep; the truck have started to move)
yeah it would be great
i call the big one bitey.

According to the Gamespot interview with Miyamoto, Konami has wanted to bring Metal Gear for a while no to the cube. And that theres a few projects not just 1 game. Interesting stuff!

What I think would really be special is a re-interpretation of the NES/MSX old-skool Metal Gear Games. Yes, I mean the 8-bit Metal Gear, Snake's Revenge and Metal Gear II. Why? Because Metal Gear was never very popular until MGS came out on the PSX. A ton of nu-skool Metal Gear fans (myself included) feel like they've missed out on a staple of which the whole MEtal Gear story was based upon. You know, we missed the old characters like Greyfox and Bigboss, including Snake's epic duel to the death with Bigboss in MGII.

But then again, a totally new Metal Gear game would really kick ass! And we'll get it for sure this time! Wheeee!!!

Wow, a remake of the NES game would be great!  It'd basically be an entirely new game - it would give you a chance to really see the plot as it was meant to be seen.  I never thought of that.  I think maybe one "I feel asleep" should be made as a homage, but that's about it.

If they're going to remake any of the old Metal Gear games, they should remake the MSX versions, as the MSX version of Metal Gear was much better (Konami of America botched the translation of Metal Gear, and for some reason the sewer section at the start was missing in the NES version, you just parachute in), and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was a completely different game from Snake's Revenge on the NES.

Yeah I agree if they remade such an old 2D game on and now made a 3D game fully utilizing the GCN hardware and with probably much increased story line and like a thousand changes it would basically be a new game.

I'd love to see an alltogether new MG gear game but a remake of one of the NES games would be just fine.
I never managed to get very far in those old MG games because they were so pointlessly hard, but if I remember correctly the first one starts out in a jungle.  That would be very cool on the GC.
In any case, I no longer have a reason to buy a PS2!

Gaming Age has reported that a Metal Gear Solid remake is indeed in development for several platforms. IMO, this really sucks harcore. I loved the first MGS, but I never got to play the 2nd one, so i would prefer either that or a new one. If I want to play the original Metal Gear Solid, I can just boot up the ole' playstation or pick it up for $10 for PC.

Hi,New member to the forum.Glad to be here
personally,i would absolutely love it if this Metal Gear game turned out to be a remake of the  absolutely wonderful,fantastic,amazing-insert limitless praise adjs- PSX game.I absolutely loved that game to the death, and i played it and didn't get to finish it,cuz i borrowed my bro's PSX,and due to some reasons, stopped almost by the end of the game.So now is my chance to relive that amazing game, with completely revamped graphics, this game would be an absolute must-have for everyone. One condition though,is that they MUST-repeat MUST-keep the original voice-overs,and only re-do the graphics.that's what i think anyway.

Oh,by the way,i only played two games on the psx-which is a testimony to how much i loved both:Metal gear Solid, and Castlevania:Symphony of the Night.

Again, its good to be here, looking forward to talking to you guys.

Whoa, a real news story.....from Nintendo of Australia.

Could it be?

But really, finally, Konami are making a Metal Gear Solid game for Gamecube. A METAL GEAR SOLID game, for GAMECUBE.
I have to tell all my friends.
If it's the first two, then this is really something worth talking about. If it's Substance or some other spin-off, then, well, I guess the fact that there's a MGS game on the Gamecube is good enough. If it's Metal Gear Solid 3, then well, open pop open the bubbly, and let's celebrate!

It is true that we are working with Mr. Kojima to try and bring the Metal Gear series to the GameCube but at this point we really haven't talked at all about any kind of connectivity features.
