I really wish questions could be asked at these things. Like when that Microsoft guy was all, like, "we're going to reach a billion players", instead of the odd snicker in the audiebce and a few people thinking "did he just say a billion?", someone should actually stand up and ask, "did you just say a billion? How many Xbox 360s do you think you'll have to sell? Don't you realize you'd have to sell multiple times more than the PS2 and GBA combined and have enough people playing on each of them to even come close to that?", etc. And then people would see how dumb the statement was instead of just snickering it off.
I also think instead of separate conferences they should be held like a debate between political leaders. One guy would be, like, "we have this game" and show a video clip and then someone else would interrupt with, "that's just a rip-off of a game we had, and now here's an even better version", and then the third guy would be all "we sell more hardware than you do so it doesn't matter", etc. Then it would be a competition to see who can show off the best stuff at the right times until the others are left speechless. I guess no one would agree to that unless they were confident in their product lines, but the way some of them sound, they really should do this to put their money where their mouth is (or something).
