It's been ages since we last heard of Mother 3, or Earthbound 2 for those never hearing of it...First announced as an N64 title in the first year of the system's existence, the project fell behind schedule as the development team was inexperienced with the new "invention" of 3D...In 2000, the project was cancelled, in which the title "Mother 3" wouldn't pop up till 3 years later at the end of the Mother 1+2 GBA game released in Japan...Since then, we haven't gotten a single screenshot, hence Mother 3 being the perfect example of "vaporware." But no longer as Shigesato Itoi (the series' creator for the uninitated) has finally spoken on the project...

(Considering Ninty is giving us wacky titles like Drill Dozer and Chibi Robo, let's hope the game is localized alongside the Mother 1+2 pack...)

And we will never get it here, why would we when we never got Mother 1+2 on GBA. Sure NA got Earthbound, but we never "legally" got Earthbound Zero. Nintendo sucks ;_;

I'm pretty sure it'll make its way over here, as Nintendo seems trying hard to keep the GBA sales up. I'd definitely buy it.

I think the cycle will go

1) People outside Japan won't get too excited because they don't think they'll be able to play it

2) Nintendo see's this as lack of enthusiasm and decides nobody outside Japan will buy it

3) Mother 3 stays in Japan

Looks good, not at all like what I had seen of it when it was suppose to be on the N64, but this series isn't about looks (at least not the way some would think.)

I personally don't think we'll ever get the 1 & 2 game, but I think there's still a possibility for this. Isn't Nintendo publishing Tales of Phantasia? I think NOA is eager to squeeze every last drop out of the Game Boy.

The screenshots are cool, they make me want the game a lot.
