Wow.  As much as I hate to admit it, I'm really enjoying stevey lately.  First he brings me that awesome 'I hate Rockstar' animation and now this.

Funny you picked Donald Duck. I believe i read it was Finland who banned Donald Duck comics because he doesn't wear pants. I don't know if that's still in effect, or if it was even true to begin with.

I thought Bully was the most blatant example of poor taste ever when it was annouced.  Bullying is something that is almost exclusive to the world of minors.  When you're an adult bullies more or less don't exist.  Therefore I find it really irresponsible to create a game that glorifies bad things that minors themselves are involved in.  Glorifying adult crime is one thing because most kids are smart enough to know you're not supposed to do it and are detached enough from that reality that they won't get involved with it.  But bullying is something any kid in school is involved with even if they're just an observer.  So glorifying it is extremely irresponsible because kids can easily copy what they see or get the idea that bullying is okay.

Rockstar is just screwing everyone over with their bullsh!t.

US attorney Jack Thompson, meanwhile, appears disgusted that Bully can be pre-ordered on e-tailer websites with no age verification check. "A check of Internet web sites today reveals that Wal-Mart, GameStop, ToysRUs, and Amazon.com are all presently pre-selling the game with no questions asked as to age of the buyers," he said in a statement.

While I'm definately not in favor of the game, I just thought I'd point out that technically the game doesn't glorify bullying.  I believe the plot revolves around a kid who is sick of being bullied so he takes revenge against the students/teachers/anyone else at his school.  It teaches the lesson don't pick on kids who aren't as cool as you or else they might bring a gun to school and shoot up the place.  Or something like that.

I think  they are making one for the psp of course, again, like Okami, a game is perfectly fitted to the DS  gets sony exclusive, where it wont have the success it wouldve have in a Nintendo platform. This is what happens to companies who go with sony, they go from making something as great as lemmings to something as stupid as a bullying game in this particular time in history.

I think the guy is just full of himself.  The ESRB probably would have given GTA: SA an AO rating from the start if they knew about the content and thought that users could access it easily.  Whether Jack Thompson made them aware of that or not doesn't mean that they're going to go around changing ratings on games that they had full disclosure on.  Plus, it doesn't appear that he does much research at all before shooting e-mails out to everyone, as is evidenced by him quoting IGN, rather than checking the Killer 7 scene out for himself.  I don't like this ultra-violent, sexual crazy stuff either, but I don't think there's much that's inappropriately rated, and usually the games that are questionable tend to be on the E/T line.
