Topic: New Advance Wars DS screens

Looking good, from the character select screen, it looks like there are going to be a ton of COs in this one. On a side note, I love the huge tank... so big, it's comical really.

Also, how many COs are playing at the same time in that one pic third from the bottom?

That's what I thought, or perhaps hoped, but it looks like Oalf is using it too in one of those screens.

I want to know that too, but since it's coming out this year, and Nintendo have only emphasised Animal Crossing and Mario Kart as the online games, i'm doubting it. This leaves them open to make a second Advance Wars DS game too, "now with online!!".

Bah... Online Advance Wars would likely be one of the greatest things ever. Still, the idea behind the "real time" mode of play in this DS one is going to get me to purchase it anyway. Hell, Advance Wars is one of those series that I would likely buy only if they increased the COs and changed up the levels, simply beacuse it's that good.

There's an indy game called "Battalion" which is basically an Advance Wars clone with online play. Dunno, that might satisfy your hunger for now...

Realtime mode sounds good, I prefer strategy games in realtime.

Eh, tried the current online versions, not a fan. There is a "exe" online port of the first GBA one around, but the lack of COs, and balance in some of the more obscure ones, and other things from the main game really brings it down for me.

Its a shame that Advance Wars DS won't be going online, it would have been the next logical add on.

i just hope they take away the CPU's ability to see through fog of war (i havent played AW2 so i dont know if it's already been fixed)
and yeah; no online is a bummer, but i know enough people that would play this game night and day with me so i should be ok
