Rumour: Chrono Trigger 2 & Chrono Break?

Well, if they made Chrono Trigger 2, a true sequal, and kept the old battle system, I would buy whatever system it came out on.  Many feel this way, Square-Enix could probably put this game on whatever system they wanted.

That's not true about Square. They did came up with a huge lineup of great games on the Psx (see FF7, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, FF Tactics, Parasite Eve and much more) I agree though, that they work on the Ps2 isn't as great as many people claim it is.
What games have they came up with on the Ps2 so far? FFX in my opinion is very overrated, even though I've never played it, it seems to follow the same line of FF8, which I hated so much. As for Rare, well we still have to see their work on the Xbox, but yeah I agree, probably it won't be better than on the N64 since a hell lot of the staff didn't went to develop for MicroSoft and without Nintendo on their side I doubt it even more. We’ll see.

Technically you guys are forgetting about Radical Dreamers (Japan-only semi-sequel to CT), but yes, both it and Chrono Chross were semi-sequel/future installments. It's like doing Mega Man X, and now coming back to do another Mega Man title.

I would be one happy Moogle if this panned out, though. A direct CT sequel? And something interesting on GBA to link up with it? And it would now be best possible, due to the Square Enix merge.

Sadly, that would be a "gamer dream" rumor, and lately, being a Nintendo fan and hoping for those kinds of rumors to be true are too often HUGE letdowns. Konami's going to announce this, Capcom's going to show off that, heck, Megat- well, do I have to finish that word? ;P Next thing we know, Mario Kart will be strictly offline.

So file me in the "I wish it was true, but I'm not likely to hold my breath" category. Still, the timing would be right...

Sounds to me like April Fools came a month and a half early. That's not even sporting.

Not like Rick is god, but he certainly knows more than us about the happenings of the industry, so doesnt this statement imply that this is nothing but major BS?
