Seriously though, DS is massive in every country but the US. What happened there?

the psp being used as a port a video, I think people have a misconception of the psp being a portable dvd player, and thus have pwnd it or sold to to EB or something

problably where majority of the sales are going

considering the psp isn't selling software by a long shot. It's seeing the same fate as the ps2 did when it first came out. Most people just brought it to watch movies and nothing more, heh.

1. It was released on the 14th in North America, but it took a while to ship, so you probably have around 13-14 sales days, and it would have definitely sold more if given time.

2. THey also have the Mario Kart console bundle, and I don't believe the software in there is counted as part of the sales.

So even if it's only for the month, Mario Kart is still doing pretty well. I'd like to see this months numbers when they come out, though, to get a better indication.

My guess is also that Nintendogs has more appeal than MKDS which is why it has stayed so strong on the charts for so long

The PSP is doing well in America because of the marketing blitz for it. Everywhere you look, someone's got a PSP and claiming that it is the business right now. Nintendo needs better marketing in the US.

Blackn~1: I think they bundled specific versions of Nintendogs with each DS colour. Labrador with the blue one, Dachshund with the pink one. Or something like that.

My understanding was that the Nintendogs bundles contained a version of the game that had the most popular breeds of all three games available from the onset. (of course all the games are the same in the end anyways) So that and the unique system color.

Shecky is right, the Nintendogs bundles came with the Nintendogs Best Friends version which started off with the most popular breeds of all three versions.

First sales reports are trickling in from Japan and apparently the DS sold over 400,000 there last week, which rivals its LAUNCH week sales. This has to be breaking some kind of record!

400,000??? Is that FOR SERIOUS? I wiped my eyes, and then wiped them again! That puts Nintendo well over 1 million ahead of the PSP for the year, I believe.

Wow, the GameCube beat out the Xbox 360? Granted, it rightfully should given what 360 has to offer so far, but that's still pretty awful for Microsoft.
