Wow, Pokemon is a MASSIVE BOMB! This is THE DS high point, it's only downhill from here. Seriously though, DS is still sold out everywhere according to reports.

I think you guys are missing the big news of this week's hardware numbers: The 360 has skyrocketed past the SP and GBM. The console battle is definately heating up in the east.

I'm looking forward to pokemon and all, but those PS2 games sound pretty good too. Wonder what the odds are of Sangokushi 11 or the entire .hack//GU series making it stateside.

I think I detect /sarcasm...

It skyrockets to 2,000 units lol ; ; Being the only next gen console out too makes it look even worse...

.Hack//GU is already announced for the US.  The first game is coming I think in November.  Check Gamestop.com for the exact date.

yeah, the first one is pretty soon, I'm just worried they'll drop PS2 support before they release the last one in the US.

I don't think so. They are also releasing the anime based on the games and they know they'll have quite a lot of backlash if they don't release everything.  Plus it all still sells well.  The Rebirth novels being released by Tokyopop are doing quite well. I would be very suprised it they aren't all released.

Also, don't forget that Sony is relying on the PS2 to keep money rolling in while it tries to get PS3 on its feet.  I'm sure the game will come here.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, Pokemon is officially a FLOP and is now down to selling Pokemon Dash type numbers after only ONE WEEK. That was an incredibly short party, looks like it really is just a fad. I thought only FF dropped this big? Pokemon P/D is going to set records alright, to be the quickest game to travel down the chart. Sony capitalising on Nintendos mistakes too by releasing a pretty huge PSP hit, that's gotta hurt for Nintendo to have some random PSP game up there with Pokemon. Sony has all bases covered.

I wonder how low DS hardware sales are going to be now? Last week probably WAS the high point in its lifespan, Nintendo better get more shipments in or they'll be doomed to keep selling a pathetic 200k systems a week.

I'm assuming there's enough Pokemon copies, or is there a shortage of those too? And this is what happens to Square - FFIII will never reach its potential in terms of sales now..

i think the numbers of the pokemon game should be looked at as one, because if it was just one game, it would sell the same amount of copies, perhaps more because people wouldn't wait to see which one is potentially better.

2,055,008 copies is pretty good i think.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

The sales are impressive regardless.
