Just for reference, it depends on what province you live in.  For example, here in Ontario, males do pay more for insurance.  However in provinces where the auto insurance is run by the province (Alberta, if I remember correctly), men pay the same as women.

I see.  Here in BC the auto insurance is run by the province (ICBC) so that's why I've never heard of this crap.

It's changing here in the states as women are becoming more and more responsible for accidents and stuff,  in the next few years the different in rates between male and female will start to not be a difference anymore, and insurance companies will have to base their prices/rates on your record and location to where you live.
