Ah, you need to enable plugins first. Who would have guessed they'd be as stupid as to make a menu in Flash. Since embedded WMP (okay, any streaming with WMP) doesn't work for me, I still can't see it. But I guess that's life. Or Microsoft's fault!

I didn´t have to enable any plug-ins. The DELL Desktop I have does everything automatically, so viewing anything is smooth and easy. All the new PC´s have these in the software that comes with it, to enable userfriendliness I guess. The old Pentium III could be a pain to work with as they were too slow in the end and urgently required replacement with the current Pentium IV. Amazing how much changed with the shift from the old generation to the new one.

Gamebasher: I don't know what you're trying to say with that. You mean you have no problems because you use a prefabbed comp or what? The computer doesn't automate stuff, that's the job of the software. Plugins are things like Flash, embedded Media Player, etc. I usually disable them because they're rarely used for a legitimate reason and an embedded WMP can freeze my browser. I think the latter is Microsoft's fault, since WMP is a piece of crap.

As you can probably see, I don´t know much about the inner workings of a computer and don´t care to either! I want things to be as simple as possible, so all I have to do is operate it and have it take me to where I wanna go! What I was trying to convey above, was the feeling of how the newer computers work better with Internet Media as compared to the older ones where it took a much longer time to wait for a download of, say, a gamemovie! I do recall in vivid memory how I once waited 40 minutes for a 2 minute duration video of a DC game (it was worth waiting for, though) So I find it very pleasing how everything is going ultra fast nowadays, such as 15 seconds to get to view the Nintendo E3 Conference in full! That´s a revolution!

It must be those plug-ins that you say are now standard with the new computers (which we had to download before or which if already installed weren´t good enough for the job or something), and of course the broadband network. I really think, that at some point in the future computers will get so fast, so advanced and yet still easier to understand as the technology becomes more streamlined and unified using evermore nature like mediums to process and transport information. Crystals could be right around the corner, as the ultimate source of datacarriage and datastorage. To me this will become possible if they, as I think they will, discover certain attributes, characteristics about the natural build of crystals allowing smoother and faster universal personal computer systems and local/international -networks if utilized in that industry sector.

By that time we would be able to view anything at our whim (like E3 Nintendo Conferences), by just telling the computer to connect us to the live stream of data broadcast from the conference, as well as talk to actual people who were physically there. Ah, how technology develops and what conveniences it brings! Just wait until you see how the DS will connect to the Nintendo Revolution machine. Nintendo are simply magnificent!!!

Your computer doesn't slow down your internet connection unless you're using Windows XP, the download speed depends on the connection you have (my 1533 MHz Athlon downloads at the same speed as my P133 and if I put my Cube online it would be just as fast). Sure, more broad connections will become available and maybe someday servers will be able to put up with that many broadband users at once, but your PC probably won't need upgrades for that.

As for the plugins, I switched them off because they annoy me, not because I don't have them.
