Eh, Bill's got a point there- there's hundreds of little touches that are seemingly insignificant and not worth adding on their own, but together bring the game a LOT closer to its ultimate goal of simulating this weird little guy's life in this town full of animals.

"Billy B: 0 for 1"

Or maybe not.  Who knows?  Just because they aren't a second party doesn't mean they won't ever release any more Cube games.  If there is something I don't think it will be exclusive though.  It would probably be multiplatform.

Without online support Animal Crossing 2 would be a completely unneeded and USELESS sequel. It would just be more of the same. And who wants a cookie cutter sequel to a game that in theory has unlimited replay value?

You are pretty naive to make a statement like that. How can you say a game like Animal Crossing can only be improved by online play, that's insane. But, not to make it seem like I am againist the idea, I would love to see Animal Crossing online but to say that the game will only benifit from it is just not right.

Many people thought that the Sims could only be improved by online play, and well look how well that turned out....

while i dont think nintendo has to be super into online this e3....i would like to see animal crossing online....you could be declared mayor of the town by your inhabitants...and you could open and clsoe your train station..which would be startign a server or closing trains..also becomign mayor would be dependant on like if your the msot popular townsperson..vs you and your neighboors...if your the mayor..you get to live in the mayors house. which is liek a big mansion...though thats my vision..can you imagine animals going to the ballets to elcet you?

I wonder if the Silicon knights game is gonna be one of those suprises that Matt C. was talking about. Maybe Mouse was right and Silicon knights isnt going 3rd party at all, but first party. Doubtful, but not Impossible.

hahaha that would be cool,
add in npc animals also vying for the election,
the townsfolk would have animal crossing style
election signs on their property, some animals
would support their fellow npc and you would
have to try and sway their vote for yourself,
then they would need police to stop the young
animals from destroying/stealing all the election
signs, hehehe.

can you imagine yourself going around the village
and all of a sudden see someone you weren't too close
with put up your sign, or having a very close friend
animal betray you and vote for the popular npc elector
or some kid from kansas trying to garner all the votes!
