This is a brilliant idea. This would mean that all the graduates here could make great AAA GC games and would increase the amount people developing for the console.

Yes!  *Applauds Nintendo* I like this idea a lot.  My University program had a year-long game development course (which I didn't take because games programming is just a little too hardcore for me) and they developed for Playstation...I suspect one of the reasons may have been that Sony is more "open" with it's hardware and development secrets than Nintendo.  It's good to see Nintendo taking an interest in young, learning developers.
That's my opinion, not yours.
