Well here's the deal, my "only" character happens to be the Raccoon Tail Selkie (the cuter one), but I added the other Selkie to add another family/trade in the home town (the land of DAVIS!) and simply for the purpose of seeing her as a "second skin" in some of the random cutscenes.  In truth, I'm beyond halfway through the game with my main Selkie, "Becca," and the other Selkie doesn't have jack and hasn't even entered her first dungeon.

This has been a nagging problem with my playgroup.  The GC-GBA link cable is shorter than even the standard GC controller cord...and I'm used to playing with WaveBirds, so it has been a pain to adjust.  We currently have the GC pulled out in the middle of the floor so we can sit in our chairs and play comfortably.  Unfortunately, the cables also have a tendency to pop out of the GBAs if you pull too hard or brush your hand up near the clips.  The game is good about not freaking out when someone gets disconnected; just reconnect and the game program will have to download back into the system, which takes maybe ten seconds.  It could be bad in the middle of a battle though.  Other than the obvious cost issues, the short cords are my main gripe with having to play with GBAs.

Not sure if this has been answered several pages down, but I have used gamecube extension cables in conjunction withthe gc-gba link cable and it gives me an additional 6 feet. I was over at a friends house playing with him and his two sons this past weekend and we put in a good 12-13 hours total into FF:CC and didn't have a single problem with popout.

The only problem we had was that one of his sons forgot to charge his SP and it died on us in the first session. His gc-gba link cable was already partially destroyed because a dog got to it so I took it apart and rigged it so that he could charge his gba and link to the cube at the same time.

I'm not sure how much the extension cables run, but I do believe that they're closer to the $9.99 side.

$10 for an extension cable is going overboard.  Look for them at $6 or less.

He just said what Bloodworth would have said otherwise.
