That would have made the sea a very patchy place with lots of shadows. I think the underwater cam is the best way to go.

I don't know, M_C's idea could work easily if there where fertile places where fish prospered, narrowing the "patchiness" to certain areas only.
Forget under water cam- make the boat transform into a submarine.  Honestly with all that water I thought it was coming... The Sadness.

Its not that it has to be that in-depth.  I'm just saying.  No game has what Skies of Arcadia has and it still manages to put something that complicated with the airship that well in the game.  Since Link had his adventure in the water with WW something like that isn't too bad.  Besides most fishing games suck.  I only enjoyed the Sega Arcade one.

What about if you dont use a fishing rod, instead use links bow to hunt down the fish and use the boats crane to get the fish or just move to the fish and you get the fish.
itll be better than simple getting a rod, its like when that man faced fish tells you to shoot him for his pain in the back

I'm fine with arch-fishing.  Oh link can catch his transporation!  Catch a fly fish for islands in the sky, or catch a fish that can make you breath underwater with contact so it can take you to see your Zora friends, etc

how about training your own fish, altough it might be like taking care of a tamigothci (i dont want do speak about mine) and you can do records and submissions. itll become like navi. It can be THE MAN FACED FISH
