Topic: what confirmed info on N5 is there?

Hey,

How much actual information is there about Nintendo's next console? All I've seen (I haven't been to the gaming sites in a while) is that it will be called the N5. Or at least that's what people are calling it. And that it will have "backwards compatability". Is there any other info from Nintendo? Or from other reliable sources? I checked the rumors page on PGC, but it hasn't been updated in a long while...

No, not to my knowledge.  Just that it will be released Late 2005 -  Early 2006, and before PS3.   I also heard that companies who've received developper kits say that the specs are comparable to the competition.  Could be false, though.

N5 is just the code name, Nintendo's next console most likely wont be called N5 (like Project Dolphin/GameCube).

As for actual real concrete info... well there isn't much besides assumptions, which i tend to ignore.

At the E3 press hodown, the Nintendo crew made it clear over and over that they weren't going to be beaten by Sony to getting a new system out. (That seemed to imply that they'd settle for same-time though)
