advance wars 1 after advance wars 2?
« on: November 26, 2003, 09:55:35 PM »
i'm currently involved in the majesty that is advance wars 2, i got it about six weeks ago and haven't really put it down at all, i've almost completed the 'green earth' portion of campaign, and i've done a swag of the war room maps, my question is, is it worth purchasing advance wars 1 after having played advance wars 2? if the campaign mode is alot different to AW2 (which my logic says it should be) then that's enough to warrent a purchase in my books.

so yeah.. aw1 worth it after aw2?

Not really, unless you want to pay 20 bucks or whatever to see the old storyline text and have less of everything else

what super said.  unless you've memorized every battle in the second one, there's nothing different in the first.  only reason for you to play it is if you need some new enemy placement and maps.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Getting the frist one is definately a step backwards. Max would become invinicable(Unbalanced) again along with whole bunch of relatively bland sanarios compared to AW2. Although I do believe Hawk is somewhat over powered.

Is the second one alot better than the first? If i wanted to get one of them is the second one worth the extra ten dollars?I heard it wasn't very different. I owned the first one but got it, beat the training, and lost it all in one day.

It is very different.  There are more maps, more campaigns, and a map editor!  A friggin map editor in a GBA game!
Pietriots, we roll out to get the lol out.
