Well, nothing really surprising there.  Metal Gear has come to stay on Nintendo consoles.  That much had already been sort of confirmed by Denis.

But it was really interesting to see Shiggy talk about it in person.

Btw, the maximum avatar size allowed here is 64x64 pixels.  I highly recommend you to get it within the standard size.

WOO HOO! I haven't played a MGS yet (or MG for that matter) but I am excited! I wonder if we are getting Snake Eater! Or if we'll get Snake eater with some nifty sub-subtitle like Substance and SOL. (I have no idea why those subtitles exist.)

Berny, they also made Metal Gear Solid: Integral.

The subtitles exist to seperate the different versions of the games, and that's about it.

I think it will be much more than a port of MGS3

I'm with Bill on this.  Somehow I don't think that Nintendo wants Sony's leftovers.

Wait--you guys do know that the Twin Snakes is a remake of MGS on the PSone, right? Konami and Silicon Knights are doing what Capcom did with Resident Evil.

I don't even know if Snake Eater will be coming to the 'Cube at all.

JSteube, I know that MGS: TTS is a remake.  I own a copy of the PC version of MGS: Integral.  MGS: TTS is a new enough game to convince me to buy it just from the trailers I have seen.  I do not consider MGS: TTS to be Sony's leftovers at all.  A port of Sons of Liberty would be Sony's leftovers.

It sure does sound like we'll be getting more MGS love doesn't it?

As for TTS I'll probably pick it up, even though I did play the original (which was VERY good). I'm glad we're getting MGS1 instead of a MGS2 port.

Anyway, it would sure be cool if MGS3 came to GC as well.

After looking at all the facts, I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the Metal Gear series will go the way of Resident Evil. In other words, Nintendo exclusive. More specifically, I think MGS4 will be a SK developed, Nintendo exclusive game.

If any of you remember, a while ago one French site said that a MGS remake and MGS4 would be Nintendo exclusive. I'm not sure, but I thought it was the official Nintendo of France website that said this. If anyone can confirm this, I would be very happy. Whoever said this, most people quickly dismissed the MGS4 part, largely because MGS3 hadn't even been announced then. Now it doesn't seem so absurd. Kojima said Snake Eater would be the last Metal Gear he directs. Then, Denis makes that MGS4 comment in an IGN interview. Was it more of Denis' "dramatic foreshadowing", or just a harmless comment? Plus, Denis practically confirms they're working on another game with Kojima. I suppose you could argue that it could be a non-Metal Gear game or a port of MGS2 or 3, but I bet not. Then, you have this video with Miyamoto. One thing he said jumped out at me. "You can play it till the next Metal Gear". It's very possible he could be referring to Snake Eater, but for some reason, I don't think Shiggy would be trying to get Nintendo fans to buy a competitor's system. Maybe I'm reading too much into all of this, but these sort of deals all start out small.

Anyway, my line of thinking is that if MGS4 will be a SK/Nintendo-made game, then Kojima may be passing the Metal Gear torch onto SK. Twin Snakes is just the training session.

Urkel, I have to admit that I entertained that thought myself for quite a while.  (and still ongoing).  Truthfully, I don't know how I would feel about that if it were true.  Silicon Knights is a fine developer, and being stuck with Metal Gear solid would limit what they could make.  But Metal Gear Solid is a damn fine franchise that's worthy of them.

But yeah, I do think it's reasonable speculation.
