Viewtiful Joe Sells Out... Again
« on: October 09, 2003, 09:43:08 AM »
It was pretty popular in Japan, and it appears it's doing the same thing here in America.

Capcom's online store is telling those hopeful of ordering Viewtiful Joe some bad news, in big red letters:

Due to overwhelming demand, we are temporarily out of stock for this item. Place your order now to be the first in line for when we have more stock – which will be later this month.

If you can remember, the exact same thing happened in Japan last July when the game shipped out there.  This is either a case of Capcom failing to anticipate the demand for VJ, or purposely short-shipping the game to increase it.

Whatever the case, Viewtiful Joe is most likely still available at many other online stores and various retailers around the country.  Just because Capcom is (supposedly) out of the game doesn't automatically mean that it will be impossible to find.

A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice.

i got my copy last night at my local gamestop and they still had at least 3 copies behind the counter.  perhaps more in the back.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Well a promise is a promise. The producer said that a sequel was banking on the fact that it does well here stateside. Here ya go! How soon 'til VJ 2? (I'm already having a blast after 2 levels, albeit a bit difficult even on Kids setting, but hey, I can look foward to a sequel right?)

Seriously though, its great news; this and the 'Cube should be a one-two hopefully during the holiday season.
