I dont know why companies are releasing so many handhelds at the moment, but heres another one.

http://www.polygonmag.com/news/index.php?id=1328

it seems like a strange time to release a new handheld with the gba selling so well,  sony planning to release the psp,and nokia and tapwave both trying to get market new systems. the prototype pictures look pretty nice anyways.

Reason number one why this will bomb

One of them entitled "Colors," is described as a 3D gang warfare simulation incorporating the system's GPS technology.

The pictures look like crap, too, IMO.  I laugh at the people releasing handhelds now.  LAUGH!  After watching GBA sales rocket (past Hollywood!) and watching the N-Gage.......suck....... why would you do this?

i think the design actually looks pretty nice. the only thing i dont really like about it is the rounded screen, or at least it appears to be rounded. i doubt that will be the final look anyways. i've just always been more concerned with how comfortable the system is rather than how it will fit in your pocket.

i have to agree that the thing doesnt have a chance though.

Looks odd to say the least. I just feel sorry for these people releasing these handhelds almost at the same time; they don't have quality titles to make them serious contenders. Oh well, guess they'll have to learn the hard way....

I doubt this thing will last too long. It may be better than the N Gage but I don't think that it will be any threat to the GBA.

EDIT: I admit it look good though

My first thought was "oh wow, Tiger is still around?"

My second thought was me being intrigued by GPS gang warfare.

The Gametrac is geared towards kids. They want to make it a helper in education. At least that's what The Register wrote about it.

i wonder why they would make a  "3-d gang warfare simulation" for a system that is going to be targeted at kids?

I used to have a Sonic handheld LCD game thingy by Tiger. It sort of kicked some ass. You'd fight Robotnik over and over and over and over until you got bored and played with Army Men and a magnifying glass.

This new thing most likely won't go anywhere. I'll look foward to it, though. It'll be sent to bargain bins and I'll get a bit excited.
