Topic: Calling all Aussies-Need info

  I am in the middle of some research about secret bases here in the U./S., and come to find out, theres one right there in Australia.  I'd like to know some of the stories or rumors you've heard about this 'Pine Gap'.  I am writing a book (fiction...i think)  and would love to hear anything anout this place.  Thank you.

Pine Gap is in outback Queensland I think.
I've only heard about it cause it is a possible location for the next Bond movie - Falco from Die Another Day is an angent for the CIA/NSA (forgot which one), and that he might be the one that runs this facility in the next movie. Of course these are just rumours, since people have been spotting Vic Armstrong in Queensland scouting for loactions/babes etc.
I read the story on www.commanderbond.net ages ago, so I don't know if the story is still there or not. There was a picture too, so try there.

I don't know any rumours or stories about it, since it's not really a hobby of ours (like you yanks and Area 51 )

You guys might want to do a little research over there, if what i hear is true....I hear its a U.S. base and is mostly underground, amongst many other rumors.  But yeah, i guess us yanks are slightly more obtrusive...but our government is a lot more coniving, so i guess it comes from them hiding certain things that are obvious to most reasonable thinkers.

Pine Gap is a military base, in the Australian desert. It's a communications base, and the most obvious feature is these huge white domes which are receivers/transmitters I think.

Yeah, i know what you mean......you're better off asking the locals. As you know, news travels fast in small towns, so if you do go there, you might find something interesting.
Us city folk aren't really the right people to ask.
another thing is that country folk have a really hard time with communications, but try finding someone to talk to in the area anyway online, before you actually go there.

Honestly, I think its garbage. Yes, even Area 51.
The reason why it's out in the middle of nowhere because there is little interference for other communications, such as television, microwave, and all that stuff.
And they might as well put something out there.

And another Bond movie being planned already?

The new Bond movie is prolly gonna be Pierce Brosnan's last, so it had better be on par or better than Goldeneye! Die Another Day was too action packed to be Bond.

Area 51, garbage?  I think you might want to study up on it...theres a sh!t load of evidence that what goes on there is far from normal, even for government.

I'm not talking about you, Omen, cause you doin it for research. I'm talkin about those weirdos that spend all their time looking for small cracks then blowing it all outta proportion.........

Indeed. Goldeneye is my favourite Bond film.
I think I've seen most of them. Too many to count.

As for Area 51, I think it's up there with the 'Moon Landing' conspiracies.
Some people with too much time on their hands.
But that's just me. A true skeptic.
