Monster Hunter Stories will finally reach North America this fall.

The RPG spinoff of the multi-million selling franchise released in Japan in October 2016. No word was given on the status of the special Monster Hunter amiibo that released alongside the game.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

And that means the amiibo will surely come as well!

Very pleased to hear this, but sad there is no sign of a Switch version of Double Cross, or a Western release of the 3DS version either.

I think Double Cross just came out in Japan this past month so I am willing to wait to see what develops for a western release.

Tough luck for you, it would localize in 2018, and by that time, the 3DS will be DEAD!

...Is what I would say back in 2016, but the longevity of the system is honestly astounding to me.

Eh, the longer it takes to localize, the more I'll believe that it will be a dual 3DS/Switch release similar to MH3U on the 3DS/Wii U.

With Stories releasing this Fall I suspect that we'll see Double Cross on Switch and 3DS next February/March.

I'm a bit surprised, I wonder how this will do here.

Not the highest game on my 3DS localization wishlist (Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey, The Alliance Alive, and Etrian Odyssey V please), but it's on there nonetheless, and I'm glad to see it coming.

I would assume that the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo will also make their way here at the same time. They probably didn't announce them on Wednesday because that would have pushed the total number of amiibo announced in the Direct to 19, which would have been kinda crazy. Since the game is slated for a fall release, they could presumably make the announcement after the Zelda, Smash, and Splatoon amiibo are already out.
