Question about Mrio Golf: TT
« on: July 24, 2003, 05:47:27 PM »
Will it have the mini golf mode like the 64 version had?? I loved that and it's just an extra feature to play around with. I see through the new screens at IGN that it will have that ring mode, but i don't remember reading if it will have a mini golf mode. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Oh, I'd forgotten about that mode! It was pretty much all I played when I had the 64 version. I somehow doubt it'll be included in the GC version, since the Mushroom Kingdom courses are basically miniature courses on steroids.

does anyone here work for target?  in the next ad there is something about an exclusive course????  how is that even possibe?  its called target tour or something?

is it a memory card ad on, or a special code?  or does target get an entirely different game and case??

If what i read from other places is correct, it seems that password tournament thing is back from MG 64.  So Target just has their own password for a tournament in the game. I am sure Nintendo Power will be revealing most if not all the passwords one magazine at a time.

Yeah I checked 2 Wal Marts, 2 Targets, one Best Buy, one Meijer, and one K Mart for the game, none of witch had it. I tell ya I'm pretty damn sick of hearing about games coming out on the 28th (or whatever) and coming to find their not there.  While this isnt always, and often times isnt, the case, it still is far to often. Nintendo should push back the "posted" release date of every day but ship that at the same time so people wont be so disapointed, and waste costly gas.

Huzzah!
Walmart.com has finally put Mario Golf on the menu!  Release you ask?  Today, July 29th of the year of this year!  Target? 30-31.  Ciruit City?  30-31.  Gamestop? 30-31.  Best Buy? 30-31.  Walmart?  NOW! (I say 30-31 because it's one or the other).

Although someting still puzzles me.  You can only preorder this, BUT it says the item will ship on or just after today, and the release date is today.  Whatever.  Me go out.  And if Wal-Store no let me get game, me beat up Wal-Store till do.  Me no go out with out no game.

That's right.
Yay.
Gonna Play.
Today.
Or tommarrow if Wal-Store is mean at me.

Usually when a release date is given, 9 times out of 10 it is actually the date the game ships to stores. Depending on where you live it can take up to 3 days after the "release date" before the stores actually receive the game.

Since a lot of these companies ship from the West Coast - gamers who live in California most likely can get the game on the day of it's release since the stores are relatively close-by to receive same day shipping. I live in Philly and I called around to a 2 different GameStop stores yesterday, one Game Gallery and a store I frequent called Game Champ - none of them even knew that Mario Golf was coming out, let alone have an in-store ETA. After looking it up in their computer system, The first GameStop told me they didn't expect it before tomorrow (Wednesday) the other GameStop told me they should have it today. GameGallery had absolutely no clue whatsoever, no idea that Mario Golf was coming out, let alone a date (pathetic). GameChamp was unsure of when it would arrive, they told me either today or tomorrow at the latest.

My question is this - Mario Golf has been on the in-store demo kiosk for a little while now. I saw at least 10 commercials last night alone for Mario Golf during WWE Raw. How could these stores not know about Mario Golf?

I hate to break it to you, but there is NO putt-putt golf option in Toadstool Tour.  I don't know where you saw this confirmed, but it wasn't at E3, and the Takahashi Bros. confirmed this for us at E3 as well.  Sorry.

The game is still WELL worth the money.  It's a BLAST.

Got mine today.  I only had time to play it for about thirty minutes.  Its great.  I only have two courses(a regular one and one of the mario themed courses).  I cant wait till I get back home so I can play it some more.

Well i got it, and it is plenty cool...but its too bloody easy so far for me.  I beat the first two tournaments with about a 10 stroke lead over the second place guy.  I hope they get more difficult...

Yeah I beat all of the tournaments in a single sitting (even if that sitting was about 4 hours long). I seem to remember having a much harder time with the N64 one. Oh well, I hope they start the online tournament soon.
