Topic: GC2 to release before other rivals....but

I just think there is going to be a lot of hype and anticipation when the next consoles are comming out.  Nintendo would be wise if they could capture some of that, even steal some of it and turn it to them by offering something great the other guys don't have.  I just think it would be foolish if Nintendo let Sony and MS have their moments and then tried to do something.  Foolish I say.

I really dont think that Nintendo should be the first out. If that happends I think it will be a Dreamcast all over again. I think instead of 1 great game at launch Nintendo is going to go all out. A Super Mario Bros game with multiplayer mode, a realistic Zelda away from the cel shading, I'm talkin Link looks like one bad ass elf dressed in green, Eternal Darkness 2, and a Super Smash Brothers game. With a more mature looking Link sales will dominate trust me. Microsoft has no games that come close to touching these titles, and the only thing that will compete will be the PS3. If Nintendo delivres knockout titles in the beginning, people will take Nintendo more seriously.

The games you mention are all sequels though.  If those games are good enough and powerful enough to carry the next nintendo console out the gate, why isn't the gamecube stomping the crap out of the xbox?  I really think there needs to be an awsome original game at the launch.  Something that will get me to stop what I am doing and go "wow, please take my money"  I don't think I can handle rehashes the rest of my Nintendo life, except the zelda ones of course.

I still think concurrent launches would be the best.

The GCn been out for about 2 years..and the GCN 2 most likely will not come until 2004-05..which means the GCN will have a life of at least 3 years..and the max of 4. n54 had about that much right? Well I think the GCN has lasted a good enough time, and they need to launch b4 teh rivals..but not too soon, they could get beaten by Sony (a.k.a Sony made everyone believe they should wait for the better console..PS2, rather then buying a Dreamcast. The DC was a great console. Too bad Sega gone south...). Anyway, Nintendo ROCKS!
