Also confirms Quality of Life still in development

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima gave a wide ranging interview to Time magazine discussing Nintendo's present and future.

The interview reconfirms the company's commitment to using Nintendo Account across platforms, including earning points in My Nintendo for interacting with Nintendo IP outside of games. The company still intends to support existing platforms (specifically calling out the Wii U), but the NX platform is expected to be different from the existing platforms as well.

When asked about the Quality of Life initiative, Kimishima stated the company was still working on it but had no announcements to make at the time.

While there was nothing specifically surprising, reading the Time interview was very comforting.  Kimishima has a good mix of daring and conservatism, similar to Iwata.  His focus seems to be on creating a new generation of leaders in the company that understand what makes Nintendo unique, so they can adapt and grow into the changing market without losing their identity in the process.
