Topic: Big Pokémon News Incoming on January 8

All I want is the console Pokemon RPG that takes the gameplay of the main series and moves it into full 3D.  We probably should have gotten that on the N64 and now two more consoles have come and gone without it.  ****, could there ever be a more obvious game to make?  If they dedicated the effort to make such a game a Gamecube launch title, the Cube would probably have been much more successful and that could have completely changed the Wii and Nintendo in general from that point on.

Oh, no kidding. I long for the traditional gameplay of the main series done in glorious 3D graphics on a home console. Unfortunately, GameFreak's main artists/programmers are 2D sprite junkies - not that I mind that style. I love it, in fact. I'm just ready for the mainline series to move on to 3D. It's been too long now.

Hopefully we'll see what's going to happen come tomorrow morning.

Already confirmed to be a 3DS game.

And Pokemon has been designed from the beginning as a portable game. The only way you'll get a mainline RPG on a console is if it's that "fusion" handheld/console hybrid people keep wanting Nintendo to make.

I'm still hoping for a more action-style game based on Pokemon Adventures.

I already know what this is. I just hope the battles look fast and interesting.

Holy ****!  Aside from this not being a console game, it pretty much looks like the full 3D game I've been asking for!
