Nintendo is wrong if they don't announce games, Nintendo is wrong if they do announce games.  ::)

Calling them vaporware would imply that these games wont be released or cancelled. I'm pretty sure all of these games will get released at some point.

Epic troll.

Admittedly, talking about titles so far in advance (Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros) implies that Nintendo wants us to look towards the distant future and not the near future. But there were games announced for the "near" future, so the whole point doesn't really hold water.

I love how someone in the comments gives the definition of vaporware and Chris actually replies to it saying it proved his point about the games.  He doesn't realize that the definition actually disproved his point.

I like how the majority of the comments criticize his article and he tries to justify it with the the Vitality Censor. Something that he and most everyone else certainly doesnt care much about. Not only that im certain he wrote an article or two up about how he probably thinks it's a useless idea anyway.

Then he brings up a Vaporware article from 1984! Man a loser with a voice.

Every body hates Chris(the show). Every body hates Nintendo.

The gaming press is just stupid about this Nintendo direct:

A number of places have indeed lost their minds after this latest Nintendo Direct. Not unexpected but still somewhat troubling to see. I don't know if it's because Nintendo has been bypassing them and this latest one was to much for them to handle. Or because Nintendo is equally not giving a damn in regard to these outlets in return. They want to be the ones not caring and having Nintendo try to please them I guess. Or they were so set on the narrative of the Wii U failing to deliver that the idea of Nintendo not allowing that to happen and showing they are and will be supporting their system themselves have driven them a little insane. It makes it harder for them to worship over the PS4 and 720 when they're finally announced.

I think it's all of the above but specifically Nintendo's actions fly in the face of the narrative they would so love to have.  A narrative that Nintendo is slow and behind the times and will fail because they aren't doing what Sony and Microsoft are doing. A narrative they've been pushing since the Wii released and in the face of the Wii's success. They want to be proven right finally and thought they saw their chance but the latest Nintendo Direct stopped that.

It's always been hard for some out there in the gaming press to accept the fact that Nintendo can and will carry their platforms by themselves if needed, even thou especially after the latest ND, Nintendo now more than any other time is willing to work with outside developers to widen the games library and to shut people up about the lack of third party support. Although Nintendo has still some ways to go into bringing full third party support to Wii U, if they keep at it like this, the support eventually will come, of course given that the Wii U recovers in sales after Nintendo published games make it to the market.

Most game journalists are bad at commentary and are bad at analysis. They should focus on reporting, stop trying to make everything fit into a story they have in their heads.
