The man behind modern Street Fighter states that the image of the Wii U at E3 2011 "is not a reflection of what the system has to offer."

Yoshinori Ono, producer of recent Street Fighter games, made some statements about the Wii U's real power and what it will offer to gamers.

While visiting Madrid, Spain promoting Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken, he was asked about upcoming video game releases, which included the Wii U and PS Vita. When he was asked about Nintendo's new system, Ono mentioned that  the system "offers so many big  and unique possibilities that it is going to be hard to sell them on the box it will be sold on."

"What was shown at last year's E3 is not a reflection of the power the system will offer. We have been trying out the development kits and some of the new features will increase its possibilities. It isn't like the Kinect or anything like that, it is something different," Ono further stated.

He elaborates on that comment by saying that "I can't talk anymore regarding the subject because, if I do, Nintendo will send assassins to kill me! (laughs). But let's say that the Wii U is going to be a console that will count with some great and unique posibilities that it will be hard to sell them across magazines and other mediums."

It is not clear whether Ono was referring to NFC capability, which was revealed by Nintendo today.

Maybe they'd higher someone from the Lin Kuei clan like Sub-Zero. (Like it said on one of there Mortal Kombat Legacy episodes on YouTube, "the Lin Music have trained the the world's deadliest assassins for over 800a years".) (But speaking of Mortal Kombat, how about making a Mortal Kombat game for the Nintendo 3DS? That would be a great game for it!)

Ono's statements sound a bit prepared but very promising. Hopefully he's also thinking of a solid SF like they did for the 3DS. A true SF that has additional features and not only rely on the gimmick factor.
....he asked me if the glass was half full or half empty. "Neither." I replied. "I see a glass that is two times bigger than it needs to be....
