Episode 100: Questioning Answers
« on: October 27, 2011, 03:15:50 AM »

Neal, Zach, and Jonny celebrate a hundred episodes of game music with some of their personal favorites alongside a friendly Jeopardy match.

Do you have a game request? Then send it my way and your request might be on the next episode of Radio Trivia: Podcast Edition!  Heck, throw in a question and specific songs if you want.  Just remember, it has to be a game found on a Nintendo system in North America (unless we say otherwise)!

If I may play Mr Correction, I'd like to point out that Bit.Trip Runner is actually available on Steam - £6.99, the UK store says.

On the topic of Super Mario Sunshine, I think that it's a similar case to Zelda: Twilight Princess. The game's critical reception back at its release was, in fact, very positive, and I get the impression that the people who lob unkind comments at Sunshine nowadays have a warped memory of the game and really ought to replay it.

And now for some unrelated trivia: I hear that the remixed music for Cave Story 3D is being done by Super Meat Boy composer Danny Baranowsky. I don't know if that will ultimately be enough to persuade me, but it's most definitely a factor in favour of Cave Story. Super Meat Boy's music is magnifico.

Really entertaining episode! Helps that the music list plays like a "best of Radio Trivia"... but the chat and questions were also great.

I'm probably the only person who can't hear Zach it seems.

I have those Cube Club sleeves as well.  I got my family to go to one while it  was in Atlanta and we happened to be there for the International Motorcycle Show.

You know i never understood the flack that epic yarn gets on NWR and its podcasts, I mean you guys are the only place where i've heard negative things about it since it seems like most gaming outlets were lapping it up at the time. I don't think its the bestest game evar and agree with the critisms in this episode (the presentation made the game etc..) but I really love that game anyways haha

I find NWR in general likes to go "And here's the rest of the story" on all the podcast.

Thanks! Yes the audio levels were tricky on this one. Apologies if Neal or Zach are hard to hear at times.

You guys really should play Wario's Woods, it's really one of the best action puzzle games, and it's a shame they keep re-releasing relative junk like Dr. Mario, but not this. Some trivia: Wanda, the fairy character who helps you in Wario's Woods is actually also the character you control with the mouse in Mario & Wario.

Minor correction on the last bonus question: It's a Metamato, which Kirby thought was a Maxim Tomato.

Bit trip beat and runner are both available on steam. Runner was part of the 2d indie "wiiware on pc" bundle sale a few weeks ago. It included Nyx Quest, World of Goo, Sworld&Soldiers and NightSky. Since wiiware are never on sales, it's worth keeping an eye for them.

Happy 100th, Radio Trivia!  Thanks for all who've contributed to making these shows.  I've gotten hours of enjoyment out of them. :)
