Nintendo's 3DS system managed to become a best seller in July, according to the recent sales data by Enterbrain.
For the five-week period, starting on June 27 and ending on July 31, the 3DS topped the hardware sales charts with 148,913 units sold. For two months in a row, the system has topped Enterbrain's hardware charts, and in the weeks of July the 3DS managed to have sales of over 30,000 units sold.
Despite the success seen throughout the month of July, the upcoming price drop and announcement of the Ambassador program had a negative effect on the fifth week of sales, dropping the units to 15,819 units sold.
In terms of software sales, only one 3DS title cracked the top ten: Namco Bandai's Tales of the Abyss. The RPG sold over 87,000 units.
