Of course it can be held. But it doesn't come close to comparing to home system controllers. Of course, that's just the nature of handhelds, they have no choice but to sacrifice comfort for portability.

What I meant is that I don't find it uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. It's not as nice as a GameCube or Xbox 360 Controller, but I actually find it more comfortable than a Dual Shock.

Well, comfort is subjective. Though more to the point at hand, do you think you would still find it comfortable if the system were noticeably thinner, as was suggested?

Make it a GBA Original shape design.  Bam!  Instantly more comfortable.
