Wii Games 2010
« on: July 01, 2010, 11:36:40 PM »
Is anyone considering going/registering for one of these?

http://www.wiigames2010.com/wii-event-home.aspx

I'm not really good at any of them aside from the Mario Coin challenge.  Very tempted to make time for one of these events though.  Wonder if they'll have 3DS demo units... :)

No, because I'm not in the US and Nintendo in my country couldn't find their ass with both hands and a map.

No, because Nintendo thinks that no one lives in western or upper New York (they never bring any events here). Hell, they didn't even schedule one for anywhere in New York State (yet some town in the middle of nowhere, like Vallejo, gets 15 different dates for it), and I am not traveling 7 hours to New Jersey for it. I will enter the contest to win a automatic trip to the finals though.

You have a Nintendo World Store though....luckily you guys have that. I'd have to drive 2,399 miles to get there.

I might as well be where you are. New York City is a six hour drive for me, and I don't have a car. I would have to get someone to drive me (and it's not worth it).

Looks like this is to take advantage of some of the early Wii/Six Flags set-ups that've been done.  I'd guess they had the consoles and space available, and decided to do something fun with it.  I missed out on the chance to see the Wii station when I was at Six Flags over Georgia this past Sunday.

If this is a deal with Six Flags, that may be why. There used to be a Six Flags about an hour away from me (Six Flags Darien Lake), but Six Flags sold it a couple of years ago; the amusement park is still there, it just doesn't have anything Six Flags related anymore (i.e. the "Superman: The Ride of Steel" roller coaster is now just called "The Ride of Steel").

The closet one is at least a five hour drive from here, which is too far for something like this.

Good luck to anyone who enters!

I could go if I wanted to drop a load of money on a flight to Seattle, but it's not gonna happen.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

I live in Louisvill, KY and the Six Flags here had to shut down because of massive law suits and financial troubles. Many people in the city are pissed that we have no theme park this summer except for the state fair. Bummer, but I say good riddance.

Whoo!  Ready for our three-ish hour drive!

Here's my co-worker working in his workshop on making some supports for the back so we're not leaning up against the hatch and don't go flying out.

We'll have pics of the finished project tomorrow - too dark to get decent pics tonight...

The co-worker in the pics is coming with us, but he's not the one playing with me.  That'll be a different co-worker.

I don't expect to win or anything.  I do expect to get some cool swag.  Perhaps I'll put my E3 plan in motion and sneak inside some of their packing boxes and go back to HQ with them.

As promised, I sent a few more pics to my Twitter account during the day.
I'll post some more pics, a video or two (nothing exciting) and some more information in the next day or two (sooo tired...)

Unclebob, you and your co-worker could offer a ferry service for a modest where people can play the wii as they wait to arrive at their destination.

Fee, I assume. I was more concerned as to why it would be a ferry service.
