Why did you buy a second Wii?

It's UncleBob; I'm shocked he doesn't have 3 or 4 of them by now.

Why did you buy a second Wii?
Because I got 160 Club Nintendo Coins for it. :)

A couple of reasons.  First, the black ones are pretty.  Second, I really didn't want to screw up my Wii.  Third, I was able to get one of the new Black bundles for only $150.  Fourth, I just got a nice cushy new job at work that bumped my pay up about 50% and wanted to celebrate with something awesome.  Like another Wii.  Now, I only need three more.

If you use something like SNEEK, you can make invasive changes to a copy of your NAND on SD/USB rather than your actual system (if you want to experiment further than a simple HBC install).

That sounds all too complicated.  I'll stick with this to play Another Code: R and if something comes up in the future, then I'll look into other options.

Ordered my copy of Another Code: R tonight via Amazon.co.uk.  To ship it to a guy in the UK, it cost about $21 total.  I'm sending him some Mario Kart cards and he's sending me some, so I don't know if he's going to want some extra cash for the extra shipping, but it'll be worth it.  Even if Another Code: R was released in the US at this point, I'd say it'd be at least $30.

Sad thing is, if they did release it, I'd probably buy another copy.  Need the Club Nintendo coins.

Now that you have a game from Europe, could you sign up for the UK version of Club Nintendo?

lol.  I assume you have to have a European address to sign up for their Club Nintendo.  And I'm sure the total of two games I've ever imported from the UK probably wouldn't get me much swag. :(

I assume you would indeed need a UK address, Club Nintendo in Japan does as well. You get 250 stars for registering with CN. The price of the games determines how many stars you get (it ranges from 100 stars for games less than £26 to 250 stars for games more than £43). The cheapest real item (meaning not PC wallpapers or cell phone ring tones) is a 100 Nintendo Points Card for 400 stars, followed by a Giratina Origin Forme keyring for 1000 stars.

I've only played one PAL title on my Wii before, but it took a little bit of trial and error in choosing the right Gecko OS options.  That said, the picture was distorted, naturally, using the RCA composite connections.  Things worked just fine when I connected through component cables, though, so hopefully you won't have any trouble.

That's mostly good to hear, since my Wii is connected through component. :)

Sweet!  Game (finally) came today!
Don't have time to play it right this second (hmmm.. wonder if I could call in?)

Did put it in the Wii and got it working (had to go into the Gecko settings and tell it to force NTSC) but it works perfect.

Yay!

Odd side note, for us NA'ers... the Club Nintendo PIN is under one of those little scratchy thinges, hidden, like a lotto ticket.  Weird.

I've imported a couple DS games recently (Thanks Karlie!) and they come the same way.  Since the code isn't going to do you any good, you should consider donating it to Karlie or Greg.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I'll give this code to whomever's willing to reship another Amazon.co.uk order for me when/if I decide to import the Hotel Dusk sequel. ;)

Too bad NA games don't have the scratch-off strip, then I could tell whether or not the code has been inputted if I purchase a used game.

No wonder this game didn't get a US release... so many spelling errors... "civilisation", "favourite"...

How did Americans forget how things are spelt during one short trip across the Atlantic? It is certainly strange behaviour.

English wasn't standardized back then.

What's that weird word you used there?  They used it in this game too.  I thought you guys spoke English over there, not some crazy moon language.

I think we just feel sorry for the 'u', it's certainly an under appreciated vowel.

Odd side note, for us NA'ers... the Club Nintendo PIN is under one of those little scratchy thinges, hidden, like a lotto ticket.  Weird.

They had the PINs visible during the first year or so but then added those scratch covers, maybe because plenty of stores have a policy to put empty cases on display so any employee could have seen and taken the code without leaving traces.
