Activision has announced the release date for Madagascar Kartz, the latest game based on the Dreamworks series of films and TV shows, for the Wii and DS.

On October 27, players will play as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, Merman the Giraffe, King Julien the Lemur, and the Penguins as they participate in wacky kart races around the world. The Wii version will come in a standalone version, and a bundle that includes a custom racing wheel.

The race tracks will be based on the locales seen in the two movies and TV series, including New York, the plane crash site, and the wilds of Madagascar. Madagascar Kartz will allow up to four players in split-races, as well as additional modes such as Championship, Quick Race, and Time Trial. Finally, in order to gain an advantage over their opponents, the characters can use weapons such as projectiles and obstacles.

That this game isn't called Madagaskartz is the greatest tragedy of our time.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Isn't Activision infringing on some Ubisoft trademark or something by using the '-z' brand name like this? ;)

Yet another Wii game with a plastic wheel.

This is one of the worst game titles I've ever seen.
