I can not stress enough that not playing when you are a townie is basically giving the Mafia an ally.

Well, this game would have become very exciting had players stuck out from last Friday and played until today. It's a little bit of a pity that didn't happen.

Maxi, you're exactly right. Players who don't play can't contribute. I can pretty safely say that had just two or three more of the remaining townies even followed the threads and decided to vote on the last day, they'd have been able to identify a mafia player and vote him out. Not to mention the carelessness on Friday, where no one was voted. This wasn't a game where the early townies died, left a legacy of clues, hints, and information, and then there weren't enough participating townies to act based on those clues, though the few who were participating easily pieced them all together.

What disgusted you so much you wouldn't even try to help the townies win here? Your vote could have given a chance for the townies, at least.

Plugabugz I think posted once. Didn't vote at all. Plugabugz has played lots of times.
Athena didn't bother playing either. This game is not that complicated. All that you really need to do is vote. That is the bare minimum. I want to know why Athena didn't bother playing.
Kraken played some. Had ok participation.

Regardless, I consistently hold that platform, Maxi. Hosts build their mafia games based on the number of players who sign up, assuming all those players will play and contribute in some way. When a good portion of them don't play, it hurts the townies, ironically the side most of the non-players wind up on.

Why sign up if you don't plan on trying? It's easy to see before the game starts that odds are you won't get a role. It's also not too hard to use a little bit of deduction and such and come to a few conclusions about who's in the game without having a role. The truth is, you're only as important in this game as you choose to make yourself, role or not. That's very true: Take Maxi for example, killed the first day because of the commotion he was making. I decided I'd do something to add a bit more color and to draw out reactions by lying about having a role. Interestingly enough, roled players actually wind up with less to say or do, for fear of dying. The townies without the roles literally get all the fun, if they choose to make somefun.

Alas, there's still several who sign up, have no role, and then go and quit.

...I thought townies just might have had this game in the bag, too. :/
