Monster Hunter Tri DLC Details Revealed

Hunters will be able to download three different quest types post-release.

Here are some more details about the downloadable quests that will be released periodically for Monster Hunter Tri after its release.  There will be three quest types that players will be able to download and play through.

Event Quests vary in difficulty, and are gated by a hunter's rank (defeating monster quests in the main game raises your rank).  They can be played online by up to four players, and will offer rare rewards such as three weapons designed by members of the Capcom user community.

Gigantic Monster Quests are available for one day at a time.  They involve fighting one huge monster, with an example being the mighty Jhen Mohran.  Jhen Mohran is a desert monster who must be captured from the deck of a sand ship, with players firing cannons at the beast to draw it in so that it can be attacked.

Arena Quests are two-player online quests that can be played in the traditional Monster Hunter timed mode (50 minutes, for example), or a "Time Attack" mode that offers better rewards for downing a monster more quickly.  They pit two hunters against one monster in a colosseum setting.

Monster Hunter Tri releases April 20 in North America, and April 23 in Europe.

I'm excited for this game.
It seems like a console MMO of sorts, but without the monthly fee for us here in the States.

I really enjoyed the demo, and I'm looking forward to the release next week!

With all the support thrown around, I'm kind of bummed the demo totally unsold me on this game.

Let it back into your heart, Neal.  We can hunt together - just the two of us.  Just get rid of that pesky fiance of yours and the sky's the limit.

Well, when you put it that way...

In all seriousness, this is the kind of game I want to like and really wish I did like, but that freaking demo...*sigh*
Maybe I'll change my tune when I go to that launch event at Nintendo World Store this weekend.

I'm really skeptical that I'm going to like this game... but the excellent online is too good to pass up. Having free DLC just makes things all the better, giving it something new to discover each month.

I wish Animal Crossing did DLC...

I'm not sold, either, but hey. The promise of weekly raids and quests with all of you people, including my man-crush, Jon Lindemann, raises my hopes (among other things).
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

Looks like you're about to get your heart broken like the 3rd grader that brought chocolates to give to his teacher-crush only to find her being proposed to by her real boyfriend. (This actually happened to my dad, LOL!)

At least it doesn't use friend codes whatsoever.  You can see people on your friends list when they're online and everything.  HOW REVOLUTIONARY!  It's the Nintendo Difference.
