Nintendo Campus. Public Tours?
« on: August 14, 2008, 09:08:48 PM »
So, anyone have the inside scoop here.  I'll be up in Seattle for business next week and was wondering if Nintendo still has a major campus up there (I recall them moving to CA).

If so, do they have something for general visitors?  Like a visitor center or something?  Or is it strictly a campus for personnel?

From what I hear there is no real public area.

No there isn't. However if your in for a visit, check out their repair place cause it has some cool memorabilia.  There are some visitor sections that are kinda cool. Other than that some times the Pikachu PT Cruiser is there :p

If you want a tour, I'll give you one later next week if you want ;)

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.

So found the place, A lot easier to find NST & Digipen before finding the Customer Service area.

Area isn't bad, small but the upkeep is good.  They wouldn't bother to fix my Nintendo DS which has a shorted microphone (after using the Turtle Beach headset on it - the internal one stopped working).  They said they'd only replace the sucker - a $75 cost.  Oh well.  Area wasn't big, but they had a lot of old merchandise lying around and DS/Wii/Starlight? on display to play.  Along with some accessories to buy.

Besides that I actually found it to be better than the Microsoft Visitor Center next door which suffered from what I call "Carousel of progress syndrome" ... Flight simulator *98* was one of the later things on display - um yeah :)

Besides that it felt like walking into any bestbuy, with computer setup to let you try out different windows apps... and an area to play some XBox360 games (which was "new" according to the front desk).  They also had some EyeToy knockoff on display.

And the MS store is worthless if you are not an employee.  Which I wasn't.

I head out Friday morning actually, and these conferences keep you pretty busy on top of that to boot.  Thanks for the offer though.
