PS2 fans were happy when they got multi-platform games, so I'll be happy when Wii gets multiplatform games.

The difference is since the PS2 was the market leader, third parties would make sure the PS2 version was actually GOOD.  They'd have one of their top teams work on it to take advantage of the PS2's hardware, so even if the PS2 version didn't look as good as the Xbox version, it would still look great as a PS2 game.  Not to mention the PS2 versions would come out first, or if they came out later would have extra content, and the controls would still be good.

The Wii on the other hand is getting what the Gamecube got last gen, which is complete sh*t.  Wii ports just like Gamecube ports, are done by the worst studio's in each company, and look pathetic.  Not to mention the controls for the Wii and Gamecube version of games are usually much worse, and have glitches that don't even exist in the PS2/Xbox and PS3/360 version.

When third parties start to give the Wii ports that are done by their top development teams and actually take advantage of the Wii's hardware, like PS2 ports usually did with the PS2's hardware, then some of us won't mind so much.  But when the Wii's getting games that look WORSE then PS2 games and control poorly, and full of glitches that shouldn't even be there because they're not in the other version, that's what's we call getting screwed.

I acknowledge your points. But we're getting there. Change takes time. And companies feeling the pinch due to market forces takes time too.

You know, the other day I was thinking about the Wii/DS comparisons we used to make back during the Wii launch, and I realize that it still stands today, even when the Wii is a success.

Remember how back during the DS days many of the games were really just ports of GBA games with tacked on touch screen features or the new games were really mini game collections with now outdated controls? It took the DS years before it finally started getting some creative, fun and innovative titles. While the Wii has to go through a different life cycle there are some similarities, especially in the fact that the Wii is most getting ports with tacked on waggle.

There WILL be a time where Wii games will be far more refined than they are now. It happened to the DS and its likely it will happen to the Wii too.

"It didn't even have the muzzle heat like MP1&2."

It does have it.

I think we're missing something. Humans are resistant to change. So inherently, developers will be too. Thus we get games like BOOGIE.

Meanwhile, back to Sonic. This game don't have a lot of anticipation for me. Partly because all the leaks of recent have destroyed any hype, and Sonic Team is making it. Why hasn't sega realised that it was Amusement Vision who made F-Zero GX? Even with Nintendo's help on that one, the talent is clearly there.

I didn't realize just how good Wind Waker looks until I started replaying it.  I think everyone is lazy on the Wii.  Even Nintendo.  MP3 didn't look like anything that couldn't be done on the Gamecube.  It didn't even have the muzzle heat like MP1&2.

The areas in MP3 are tons larger than any in MP1 and 2, and the textures ARE much better...It needs to be realized that horsepower doesn't just have to be used to make the game flashier...

Bill is dead on, you need to be careful how you judge visuals because games attempt to do different things. Not to mention you are forgetting Super Mario Galaxy if you think Nintendo is being lazy visually.
Galaxy seems to be the exception but I'm now not even fully convinced of that.

Really I sat there for a good 2 minutes firing as fast as possible and couldn't get the effect... Maybe my copy was defective...

On the game in question I'll probably rent it to play on the PS3 but I'll probably wonder why I couldn't have gotten SSR 2.

Sure, you can be resistant to change. Doesn't mean you won't go extinct though.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.
