Courier Travel Flights
« on: December 17, 2007, 08:39:54 AM »
As you all may or may not know, or simply, may not even care about, I am a huge fan of world music and love to travel. There is nothing I would like to do more than travel the world and listen to all sorts of different cultural and traditional music. I'm not talking about what's playing on the radio in Paris; I'm about what's playing on the street corner in front of that cafe.

Anyway, to get to the point. I am not rich. I am a student with a pretty decent job and I recently found a means for me to travel the world at random for cheap. It's called being a courier for a company. For those that don't know, a courier buys a ticket that a company resells in order for the company to fill a seat in an airplane. They give the courier packages (which they rarely ever come into contact with) to avoid horrible airfreight customs and expensive fees. The only disadvantage is that you have to give up your luggage space on the plane. I fly with two carry-ons almost always, so that's no problem for me. You may remember an episode where Bart Simpson became one.

Has anyone every been a courier for some company in order to fly at a ridiculously cheap price? I've been thinking about it alot as well as doing a bunch of research, and I must say, I'm probably going to go ahead and jump on a plane in the next month or so. Where to? I don't even know. So far there have been a lot of awesome places I'd like to travel to, including: Singapore, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, etc... Once there I would probably just check into a hostel (also incredibly cheap) and chill out for a week or so.

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences they would like to share...or hell, if anyone is even interested in this topic.

I absolutely love travelling, but would this be for only one person?
