Which image gets the point across better?
« on: May 03, 2007, 02:08:37 PM »
This one?

Or this one?

OK, I might as well explain the joke.

I'm pretty sure that I am not the only one who has encountered gamers who have a venomous hatred towards the Wii simply because "it doesn't meet their gamer standards". They say stuff like "Nintendo has betrayed me" and "I'm too much of a gamer for the Wii!" to the point where they become whiny, drama queens. Worst of all, they don't even bother trying the Wii out! Their hatred is so big that they refuse to touch it!

I know there are some people like this around the NWR forums, but some are worse than other and I can't help but mock them.

I don't mind their comments. Its their refusal to play the Wii that annoys me the most.

So, which image gets the point across the best?

If you have to explain a joke then it isn't a very good one... =)

The Wii is for white males only.

Wait, that's the 360.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I like the 2nd one better, but the 3rd photo is perfect.

But the third Photo is a Nintendo fanboi! Everyone knows that the question of hardcoreness doesn't even ENTER the minds of N-fanbois, we just... I mean THEY just buy Nintendo products like a religion! In fact, the third picture shows someone who's most probably perceived by the internet to be THE MOST LIKELY purchaser of the Wii.

... But I like the first picture better. The second picture is more direct, but the POUT on the first picture is just PERFECT! It's much more subtle and sophisticated.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

The way I see it, the Wii split the Nintendo fandom in two. One half consists of hardcore fanbois that love everything Nintendo and embrace the Wii as being a fantastic gaming machine, the other half is composed of hardcore fanboys who feel betrayed by Nintendo's new look on gaming (easier to get into games, new control scheme and such).

At this moment, the first half is winning.

Okay, Kairon.  Here's one for anti-Nintendo fanboy contexts.
