Call for Heroes: Pompolic Wars for wii
« on: May 03, 2007, 02:53:39 PM »
Just read that Call For Heroes: Pompolic Wars Is headed to wii, started off as a PC title that was supposed to be out late last year, seems to be pushed to June for PC and 4Q for the wii.

From the screeens it looks like it could be a good fit for wii, if nothing else maybe open up the doors for more games of the genre. Just hope it's not a watered down pc port and actually has some decent controls/graphics.

BTW been a fan of the site for a long time, love the podcast as well. Keep up the good work!!

Sweet!

I don't know about you guys, but, a nice, straightforward no-nonsense action game would hit the spot. PLUS I hear these guys are from Serbia! Everyone support these poor Serbian developers!

I frown on the cliché of the scantily clad female adventurer because it's completely non-utilitarian, but in this case, the male counterpart is just as scantily clad so I've no choice but to applaud them for their fairness to both genders.

alrighty, each gender is allowed to wear one loin cloth and one pair of boots.

choose where you wear them wisely.

that's all.

I have high hopes for Project Hammer as well, especially since it has been in development for quite awhile. In regards to this game, it could be good, but I'll have to wait and see how the final product turns out.

Yikes! Just played the PC demo and the game seems even more straight-forward and simplistic than I thought! Bare bones action gameplay from level to level is what it looks like... Oh well. Still might be good for a little diversion. Hope the developers don't struggle with their tech because my laptop chugged a little bit even with the non-ambitious models of the game.

it looks like a MMO game like WoW, I'm guessing its the opposite though.

Very opposite. VERY.

Each level basically looks like a "collect all the items so you can move to the next level" thing.

I tried to play the demo and it wouldn't do anything, I could hear the music but I was still seeing my icons!

Eh, am I the only one who thinks that game looks bad?
It's way too PC-ish for me. And the animation looks pretty bad also, from the animated images they have on the site.
Thanks but no thanks. Project HAMMER will probably be MUCH better than that.

Ghisy... I completely agree with you... I'm just desperately trying to think nice thoughts about the poor Serbian indie developers who likely have to work out of bombed concrete buildings and have intermittent power failures and the like.

Irrational? Yes. Pitifully optimistic? SOOO Yes.

I don't think PC-ish would really be all that bad. the wii-mote and nunchuck are better suited to it then the other consoles.

I do agree the graphics are a little mah, and I haven't played the demo. But I think I'll stay a tad optimistic along with Kairon and hope for the best. I'm not expecting much, but a new genre of game on wii can't hurt.

It is hard to stay optimistic when the stupid demo won't play right!
