Get a better grip on your Wii Remote, and protect it at the same time.

ShieldZone – Screen Protector Manufacturer – Releases New Accessory for Nintendo Wii

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ShieldZone announces the release of invisibleSHIELD™ for the Wii Remote, the motion-sensing controller for Nintendo’s new Wii home video game console. The full-body invisibleSHIELD™ design for Nintendo’s Wii Remote is available through the company website at   www.shieldzone.com, and is now shipping.

“Our invisibleSHIELD™ design answers concerns raised in national publications about this revolutionary gaming system," said Robert Pedersen II, ShieldZone’s president and CEO. “In addition to providing renowned protection from scratches and damage, the texture of the invisibleSHIELD™ provides a better grip on the Wii Remote, which will keep it from easily slipping out of gamers’ hands."

“The benefits of the invisibleSHIELD™ come without adding any noticeable bulk to the Wii Remote, or changing Nintendo’s fantastic design in any way," added Pedersen. The new invisibleSHIELD™ for the Wii Remote wraps around the entire device, providing a better grip for game play and full-body protection against scratches.

ShieldZone has also released full body designs for other new products recently, including Samsung Blackjack, LG enV VX9900, iriver clix, LG VX8600 (Chocolate Flip), and Motorola RIZR Z3.

Formed in March 2005, Salt Lake City-based ShieldZone Corporation discovered it could use a film originally created to protect the leading edges of military helicopter blades to also shield handheld electronics with its patent-pending processes. Since then, ShieldZone has introduced more than 600 products to protect mp3 players, iPods, MacBooks, PDAs, cell phones, GPSrs, digital cameras, watch faces and other handheld devices. For more information on the invisibleSHIELD™ and ShieldZone, visit   www.shieldzone.com.

Something about this makes me think of The Emperor's New Clothes.  On the other hand, when I read the headline, I thought it might be a plexiglass wall to put in front of your television.

I have this on my DS and it rocks.  However, I put my DS in my pockets and scratch on the screen all day.  So, it's well worth the investment.  But, I don't really care if my WiiMote gets scratched cuz I never really look at it.  Though, if they made one for my HDTV screen...

See for yourself...

Basically, they're extremely scratch resistant.  The only thing that really affects them are blades.  Other than that, this material can really take a lot of punishment.  Just to freak out some of my friends, sometimes I use my car keys as a stylus and scratch like crazy

But, that's why it doesn't really make much sense for the wiimote.  I don't really care if it gets scratched up.
