You know what sort of Ironic.  Luigi Dude mentioned that he's probably going to hold off because of he has GCN games to play and I'm buying it at Launch because there are GCN games I want to play.

NES - I believe a year or so after launch.
SNES - Soon after launch. I'm not sure exactly anymore.
N64 - A few days before actual launch (KB Toys down the street broke the date.)
GBA - Launch day
Cube - Before launch day (the ebgames.com $400 bundle was shipped a day or two early)
GBA-SP - Japanese imported gift before U.S. launch.
DS - Christmas gift '04.
Wii - Launch day (I'm not 100% sold on Nintendo's direction yet but who am I kidding?)

I didn't own a GameBoy until GBA. Portables never really interested me. The GBA and SP collected dust. The GameBoy Player got more time than the actual GBA did. But the DS is doing OK for me so far.

Other systems owned... Atari 2600 (born into it, or close to that). Genesis, Sega CD (lolz), Neo-Geo, and PCs (of course).

I'll probably also pick up a 360 sometime next year. My hunch is that Wii won't be enough for me if the release schedule becomes anything like GameCube's in it's second half of life. Since it'll be a cold day in hell before I pay $600 for a PS3, 360 wins by default as system #2.

NES – We didn’t get one until at least Christmas 1987.
GB – I got a Gameboy when The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening came out.
Super NES – Got it for my Birthday right after it came out.
N64 – Got it before it’s actual release day. =)
GBC - ? I got it with Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 when the game came out.
GBA – At launch.
GBA SP – At launch.
GBA M – At launch.
GCN – At launch

At Launch. This will be the first time I've ever bought a system at launch, first time I'll ever preorder a system. I'm throwing $40 a month aside so I can be sure to pick up a few games!

At launch - will probably preorder. Probaby won't be able to afford to buy a load of games with it - probably have to limit myself to one or two.

I was debating whether to try and sell my Gamecube + a bunch of games now to finance buying a Wii, while I still stand a chance of getting something for it. I can see people trying to trade in Gamecubes for Wiis and being given practically nothing for them on launch day. Backwards compatibility is still certain, right?

GBA/SP/M - I actually got my GBA the day before launch, EBgames employees are stupid.  Got GBASP a month or so after launch, and got GBM last September.  (a week or two after launch)
DS/L - DS Get @ Krizzums 2004.  Couldn't wait for DS Lite, so I had to freaking import it over Spring Break.  It's got a burned in pixel on the top, but I guess that's what I get for not waiting.
Wii - Launch.
