Time Competition
« on: January 25, 2006, 12:05:29 PM »
Xbox 360  will  probably be  number one  in  the  US because it was first out of the gate here. Soi far its done pathetic in Japan however. With nintendo launching so close to Playstation 3 how will this bode?
E3 ill generate alot of hype for Revolution, alot of hype will be for Playstation 3 as well. however,  if they are released so  close together how will things  pan  out.

You see alot of the reason PS2 ended updominating was it was released first. This  generation Sony  probably will not  have that advantage. This I beleive will hurt it. I think the dedicated fanbase that Nintendo has will give Sony a run for its money.  If Nintendo is just one month more dominant in  sales  it could  turn the tides.  PS3 will probably not have a huge lead over Revolution and  if  Nintendo is correct  it will  get  non-gamers to  buy its system. When i say  non -gamers i mean  those who have  avoided  gaming due  to  the  complexity of  controller.  IE  our parents, hot  girls, old people.

This  could give Nintendo a lead.  If  they take over Japan ,  they may  then  take  over the west.

If being first to market and having a huge multinational corporation were all it took to win, we'd all be waiting on the next generation CD-i

Nintendo has a chance to take an early lead if they launch with PS3, simply by shipping more units to stores. After that they can issue a ton of press releases about how they are #1, and gain momentum from there, then have a few big games launching shortly after and they're at least going to be level with PS3 for the first year.

About the Xbox 360 winning in the US, I highly highly doubt that. Nothing Xbox will ever win, anywhere. Microsoft don't understand the gaming market.

Tell that to Sega.

Sega didn't have the games geared for the gamers that Microsoft thrives on, however. Msoft knows how to keep the peasants happy.

Microsoft has way more money than Sega and plenty of third party support.  I think PS3 will eventually outsell it, but I think Microsoft will hold on to number one for quite a while - more than a year.
That's my opinion, not yours.

As great as Dreamcast was I think  xbox 360 has a greater chance of  being number 1. just think  right now  in  the n ext generation...its already number 1.
