Phazon mines.

I'm finally comming back to MP after a very long abscense, and now I'm remembering why I stopped playing in the first place.

Seriously, how am I supposed to kill 5000 consecutive, powerful Space Pirates with no save points?

The only tip I have is go back and get all the Energy expansions you can get.  That's what I had to do.  I think I was stuck in the Mines for around a week.

This thread reeks of weakness.

It's easy to tell which type of Elite Pirates you're against, and half the time you can see them far away.  Try to approach them, one at a time, with the charged beam they're weak against, unload on them, followed up by a burst missiles and rapid shots to take him out quick.  And yeah, get more energy tanks.

This area of the game was more difficult than it needed to be.  A result of poor planning.  I hate it when they make a game with plentyful save points then all of a sudden decide to up the difficulty by making it stressful, where you have to make it through a tough area and then beat a boss before you can save again.  Poor planning.  Breaks the consistency of the game-flow.
