Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt
« on: April 17, 2005, 02:59:51 PM »
I have rediscovered my beloved cartidge today....I have recieved my Metroid DS demo in March, ever since I got Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS...I slowly forgot about it. Now, today I have relised that the actual Metroid Prime DS would rock...imagine....a full story FPS on the DS.....I could play it for hours....

It's actually an FPS. Metroid Prime is an FPA.

Well yeah, the demo is, but the full version might have an Adventure mode or something. Not that it really matters cause I won't be getting it, unless it's really special, the demo is enough to satisfy me.

It hasn't been announced that there would be an Adventure mode?? I thought that they had already said that there would be one. Oh well.
Even though the demo is FPS, I should think that there will be an adventure mode - it would add more meat

in an interview on 1up awhile ago, they said it would have a regular single player mode. And it's a FPS because the emphasis will be on action (as said by the game developer guy). I don't think it will have as much exploration. My question is, why are they calling it Metroid PRIME Hunters. It doesn't look like Metroid Prime is in there...

Because "Metroid Prime" describes the first-person view of the series...

They should really change that, though.  They will, eventually, I think.

Same thing happen to me? i forgot about it cause of mario64 DS and asphalt gt, warioware that one day i was bored
and i thought i 'll give it a try at first i didn't like cause i dont like the tap and shoot method. I play around with the control options till i found the one i was confortable witch was D-Pad to look up and down, Left and right, a, b, x, y to move forward and strafe. Playing this way felt more of an advanced way of playing a first person shooter so i cant wait to get the full game to be release.

I'm going to warn you right now, if this game goes online Control S will be the ONLY viable optionv The time it would take for you to just turn around, they could've pulled about 3 360 rotations with the stylus.  Not to mention their aiming will be sharper.

They will just abuse health power ups, which make the game so 1 sided in multiplayer
another note is if you get the first kill then quit the game, its your win and there lose...cheap eh

Hey, I wasn't trying to say the game was perfect.  Your thing about the health powerups would be the primary thing changed about the game if I was developing it.  Right now, you can get entirely too much health, and couple that with a strong offense with 2 missile powerups and it can be heck for anyone to catch up even if all three decide to attack the leader.  However, despite this, it's still one of the better demos I've ever played, especially when you have 4 people in a game.

Edit:
Now that I think about it, the second thing I'd do is remove the seeking capability of the charged missiles.  I swear, if there's anything that keeps the leader alive with a ton of health is the fact they barely have to aim in order to hit you with strong shots while you and the others are dying without much hope.

Have you checked out ebay?  I'm sure there are people willing to sell theirs.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

The multiplayer mode is so much fun, I played it on a Coach bus on a school trip.  The connection was real strong and it was great hearing someone groan at the front of the bus because I just fragged them.  Anyways I also found that I prefer the stylus to the thumb strap because now I'm more accustomed to it.  Great demo, the bonus video is just so tantalizing.
It may be simple, but it ain't easy.

Addicitve Game, what springs to mind when you say that? Puzzle Games? Wario Ware? Well for me, its Metroid PH:FS. I am still playing the demo since christmas day, and I'll pop through regulator just before a lesson starts, or while the conversation topic changes to Halo . The control method is brilliant, so accurate. I only have three DS games (Wario Ware, Mario and Metroid), and its already creeping up to my favourite.

Wow! It looks like Metriod on crack. It still retians that exploration feel, but now the battles are heated up and a hell of a lot faster.

Anyway, enjoy....
